This will give you a foundation for the burst fade to go down to a lower length. Use the number 4 guard for having the sides cut to the desired length.You can also use a scissor as long as you can handle it in order to cut the hair to the desired length.
Set the clipper with number 3 guard to keep the hair on the top to the desired length.
